The I.F. output of the mixer goes through an isolator into a cooled HEMT amplifier. The amplifier,
produced by Miteq, operates from 1-2 GHz with an average noise
temperature of 
3 K. Only
one voltage is needed to bias the amplifier. This voltage is provided
by the Amplifier Bias box located in the right most equipment rack
under the receiver pallet. The amplifier is biased at 
0.77 V
and should draw 
mA. The amplifier is attached to the
12 K radiation shield.
