In order to implement Pole STAR on AST/RO it is necessary to relocate the existing 810/492 GHz receiver, Wanda. Figures 19a, 19b, and 19c are 3-D AutoCad renderings of how this will be achieved. The receivers are mounted on adjacent pallets, with Pole STAR at a 45 degree angle to Wanda. Wanda's current optics box will be modified to support a pick-off mirror that can be manually slid in place whenever Wanda is to be used. The first Pole STAR parabolic mirror (P1) is located below the pick-off mirror. New elliptical mirrors for Wanda are being fabricated to compensate for the increased pathlength resulting from the relocation. The LO injection system for Wanda will remain unchanged.
